OSU Youth Orchestra

The OSU Youth Orchestra (OSUYO) is a full symphony consisting of mostly high school students in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion sections. Repertoire includes many standard masterworks expertly arranged for educational ensembles, as well as original compositions and contemporary works. The OSUYO is conducted by OSU faculty member Dr. Thomas Taylor Dickey.  


Auditions for new members will be held Aug. 22 and Aug. 29, between 4-7:30 p.m., or by appointment. Once registered, you will email Dr. Dickey to arrange your audition time: thomas.dickey@okstate.edu

Students should prepare 5 minutes of a solo piece with contrasting sections. There are no scales or sightreading components to the audition. All auditions will take place in Dr. Dickey's office, room 112 in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. in room 118 in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. The first rehearsal will be Sept. 5.


Tution is $100/semester and is to be paid in full by Sept. 28. Click here to pay now.
